When Colorado Does What Colorado Does: Pivoting to Deliver, No Matter the Conditions
Event planning comes with its fair share of unpredictability—but in Colorado, that unpredictability can hit fast and hard.
On March 14, we had sunshine, warm temperatures, and all the signs of a perfect early spring weekend. By the morning of March 15, everything had changed. Snow and ice covered the ground, temperatures dropped to 10 degrees, and what was supposed to be a straightforward event setup quickly became a logistical challenge.
But this is exactly where preparation, creativity, and commitment matter most.
Adapting in Real Time
With the sudden shift in weather, my original setup needed to evolve—fast. The priority was clear: deliver a seamless experience for the client while staying efficient and cost-conscious.
Instead of forcing a setup that wouldn’t perform well in freezing conditions, I engineered a portable keg system that could operate reliably in the environment. The solution:
A custom portable keg configuration
A two-way split system
Designed to serve two mocktails from a single CO2 tank
This approach allowed me to:
Maintain speed of service
Reduce exposure to freezing risks
Stay flexible within the space constraints
Keep costs controlled without sacrificing quality
Delivering on the Commitment
Despite the conditions, I was able to fully honor my commitment to Julianna and the team at Legacy Event Center for their March Vendor Pop-Up.
And the result?
A new community of guests was introduced to The Allyn Bar Co.
A fully executed non-alcoholic mocktail experience
Direct-to-consumer engagement through Allyn Bar Co. growler sales
A warm, welcoming activation—on one of the coldest days of the season
The Bigger Takeaway
Events don’t happen in perfect conditions. They happen in real conditions.
What matters most is the ability to pivot intelligently, solve problems quickly, and deliver consistently, no matter what variables come your way.
At The Allyn Bar Co., that’s the standard.
Whether it’s sunshine and 70 or snow and 10 degrees—we show up ready to adapt, execute, and elevate the experience.
